Aging skin is increasingly susceptible to lipid depletion: the loss of natural compounds in skin’s surface, present in the predominant form of ceramides, natural cholesterol, and fatty acids. *Protocol: 4-week study, on 17 female subjects, ages 38 to 64, who were retinoid averse (self-reported). Subjects applied topical 0.025% tretinoin to their entire face every other evening, or every evening, depending on tolerability.
